Sound of Music at Cloughleigh

T J Waters, Chairman, Ennis Phoenix Twinning Board returned to Cloughleigh School last week to thank to children and staff for the welcome they gave to St Mary’s High School Band from Phoenix in Arizona when they visited the school earlier this year.

“St Mary’s Band were bowled over by the musical talent in Cloughleigh School and many of the band members and visitors found the visit both an emotional and enriching experience that they are unlikely to forget for a long time” he said.  The visitors were amazed at the variety and quality of the music, song and dance performed by children, he added.
The Ennis Phoenix Twining Board used the occasion to present Cloughleigh School with a clarinet and accordion kindly donated by Maura Hitching and Eddie Corry, respectively. The Board also contributed a portion of the profit from the Night at the Dogs held at Limerick Greyhound Stadium recently.
